Bangkok (July 14, 2021) – The Bangkok-based Cambodian Business Council (CBC), a newly established trade association and the Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association (Thai Subcon), a largest group of more than 500 industrial manufactures, have entered a Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) that aims to promote the private sector cooperation thus significantly contribute to the implementation of Cambodia’s Economic Strategy 2021 -2023.
Presided over by H.E. OUK Sorphorn, Cambodian Ambassador to Thailand, witnessed by Mr. HENG Sovannarith, Cambodian Commercial Attaché, the signing ceremony took place virtually between Mr. Sambath Sothea, President of CBC and Mr. Kiattisak Jirakajornwong, President of the Thai Subcon, due to the resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand and Cambodia.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sambath Sothea informed participants of the CBC missions to develop a platform for all, aiming to establish strong relations with all business alliances and support members of Thai-Cambodia business community as well as promote their interests to the policy makers.
“I thank Mr. President of the Thai Subcon and look forward to working together for a very fruitful mission and collaboration in the field of business, trade, and investment,” said Mr. Sambath.
Mr. Kiattisak Jirakajornwong shared the Thai Subcon’s background and its vision that aims to develop members’ capacity for high-tech production and marketing, build up a global network by linking their businesses to state departments and local and international organizations.
“With this cooperation, we strongly believe that it is going to benefit both of us in no time. Thai Subcon pledge to realize and materialize this MOU for the benefit of both association and for the goodwill of Cambodia and Thailand,” said Mr. Kiattisak.
According to the MoU, both parties committed to enhancing cooperation through jointly organize and develop business, investment and trade-related activities to promote and expand members’ business networks in Cambodia and Thailand as well as exchange relevant information and support marketing channels in order to promote cultural and social connectivity.
